I am a pediatric endocrinologist with a special interest in youth onset type 2 diabetes. I am originally from Chennai in India and attended medical school in the lovely coastal Indian city of Pondicherry. I completed my pediatric residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and Tufts Medical Center in Boston. After residency training, I went on to complete pediatric endocrinology fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. At the Madison Clinic, I see children with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes and lead the pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes program. My research in the area of pediatric type 2 diabetes, specifically focusing on the genetic determinants of type 2 diabetes and the determinants of medication response in youth with type 2 diabetes.
