I completed my residency in general pediatrics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, followed by my fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco. I am currently a junior faculty member at UCSF. My research interests are in the area of type 1 diabetes mellitus. My past research has focused on the efficacy and safety of the whole pancreas and islet transplantation in patients with type 1 diabetes. Currently, I am focusing on research studies to improve the management and outcomes of type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents. I am also dedicated to patient care at the Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes at UCSF and helping youth with diabetes maintain healthy, productive lifestyles.
